Residences

Research indicates that mental health consumers are much more responsive to accepting treatment after they have housing in place.¹ Because we integrate housing with supportive services, SERV is able to achieve a higher level of success with a very challenging population.

SERV Behavioral Health System, Inc.

Our Mission

At SERV, we share our experience, support and guidance with adults, children and families as they work to recover from and cope with mental illness, addictions, challenging behaviors or developmental disabilities.

Founded in 1974, SERV Centers of New Jersey is the cornerstone of the organization that has since grown to become SERV Behavioral Health System, Inc.   A private, not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, SERV Behavioral Health System focuses on serving adults and children who are working to recover from and cope with serious mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities.

Because every person can make a valuable contribution to the community, SERV integrates housing and supportive services to address the needs of the whole person and does not treat just an illness.

It is our goal to assist the people who come into our care to live and work successfully in their communities as they build more independent and meaningful lives outside the walls of an institution.
