Two Directors within SERV Behavioral Health System, Inc. have been promoted to executive positions.

After the recent retirement of Chief Financial Officer James Rose, Caren Jesseman was promoted to CFO of SERV Behavioral Health System, Inc. While serving as Director of Finance for more than a year, Ms. Jesseman had been working with Mr. Rose and others to learn all financial aspects of the SERV family of companies.

Her new duties include all phases of accounting, supervision of staff, an understanding of all current state funding laws pertaining to the mental health and developmental disabilities environments, and an understanding of not for profit and health-care issues pertaining to accounting functions.

Ms. Jesseman is a licensed CPA with a master’s degree in business administration from Rider University in Lawrence and a bachelor’s degree in business-financial management from the University of Delaware.

Her professional affiliations include being a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, N.J. Society of Certified Public Accountants, Mercer County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Johnathon Smith, a Director with SERV Achievement Centers since 2008, was promoted to Chief Operating Officer for SERV Achievement Centers.

Mr. Smith has been employed by SERV since 2004. He was a Residential Program Manager/Case Manager prior to being named a Director.

As COO, Mr. Smith is responsible for the management of a variety of services delivered to consumers with developmental disabilities within SERV Achievement Centers.  

Mr. Smith is an alumnus of Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Community Health/Health Education and a master’s degree in gerontology.
