For the 21st year, the SERV Foundation will sponsor its major fundraising event, the Volley For SERV Tennis Tournament, to support the mission of SERV Behavioral Health System, Inc., which has been providing housing and services for special-needs individuals for the past 37 years. The annual tournament and reception will take place June 20, 2011 at Cherry Valley Country Club in Skillman.
We are proud to announce that this year’s honorees are Barry Szaferman of Princeton and Edith Savage Jennings of Trenton. Mr. Szaferman, a partner with Szaferman, Lakind, Blumstein & Blader law firm in Lawrence, has long supported Volley For SERV as a participant and sponsor. Ms. Savage Jennings, an inductee of the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, among numerous honors, is a former board member of SERV Achievement Center (then Center for Innovative Family Achievement). SERV also is presenting a posthumous award to the family of Louis A. Natale Jr., a generous supporter of Volley For SERV as a committee person, player and donor. Mr. Natale, who passed away in December 2010, served as president and chairman of the board of Ritchie & Page Distributing in Trenton. Ann LoPrinzi, tennis columnist for The Times of Trenton, will receive a Media Award for her fine reporting over two decades of Volley For SERV.
Awards will be presented during the evening reception after a full day of tennis contests for Men's, Women’s and Mixed A & B teams and Pros.
